Introducing Bento 0.8: Enhanced Workflows and Advanced Specialty Checks

Original Post: Bento 0.8: Updated workflows and new specialty checks

In Bento 0.8, the team has reduced the tool’s file footprint and optimized its behavior for individual rather than team-wide use. Key changes include making Bento’s source code publicly available, adding new checks, and enhancing usability. The updated default behavior now targets personal workflows, automatically checking code changes only during commits, and keeps other contributors’ workflows unaffected. New specialty checks for Flask and Click integrations have been introduced, addressing common issues such as missing authentication decorators and modularity recommendations. The focus has shifted to supporting Python web applications, specifically Flask, while pausing JavaScript and TypeScript updates. Users can still enable ESLint as needed. The Bento team is open to support and discussion via email or Slack.
