Highlights from Semgrep’s Presentation at HellaConf 2020

Original Post: Semgrep at Hella Secure HellaConf 2020

Thanks to Hella Secure for hosting the virtual AppSec conference, HellaConf 2020. At the event, r2c’s CTO, Drew, gave a presentation on Semgrep, an open-source code analysis tool similar to grep. Semgrep allows for writing security and correctness queries on code across multiple languages (Python, Java, Go, C, and JavaScript) with ease. Originally developed by Yoann Padioleau, who has a background in creating Coccinelle for Linux kernel refactoring and later sgrep at Facebook, Semgrep has evolved and is supported by Yoann at r2c. The presentation and slides are available for viewing, and all HellaConf videos can be accessed on Twitch.
