Semgrep Pro Engine Now Supports Go!

Original Post: Announcing Semgrep’s support for Go in Pro Engine

Semgrep recently expanded its Pro Engine to include cross-file analysis for Go (Golang), building on its initial support for Java and JavaScript. The addition of Go, a popular and efficient programming language, aims to help users identify and rectify bugs and vulnerabilities more effectively. Alongside this update, Semgrep has introduced 50+ new rules for several Go frameworks such as Gin, gRPC, and Gorilla and rules to detect hardcoded secrets.

To start using this feature, users can add their GitHub or GitLab projects to Semgrep Code for PR or MR scanning, ensuring the default ruleset is active and the Pro Engine is enabled. Semgrep continues to broaden its code analysis capabilities and invites its community to suggest new languages for future support via their Community Slack channel.
